The Swedish Government has legally authorized the burning of the Quran in the name of freedom of expression causing severe grievance among Muslims all over the world. A recent incident on June 28, where an Iraqi Immigrant in Sweden burned a copy of the Holy Quran in front of Stockholm on Eid ul Azha, caused outrage from Muslim countries and Muslims all over the world.

Pope Francis has condemned the Quran burning incident; he stated that he is angry and disgusted over this incident. Swedish Prime Minster also condemned the sad incident of the Quran burning and posted a tweet stating:
“Freedom of expression is a fundamental part of democracy. But what is legal is not necessarily appropriate. Burning books that are holy to many is a deeply disrespectful act.”
“I want to express my sympathy for all Muslims who are offended by what has happened in Stockholm today.”
