15000 Buses required to meet the transport needs of Karachi

Karachi: 15000 Buses are required to meet the transport needs of Karachi. The Sindh Cabinet informed Sindh Information and Transport Minister Sharjeel Memon that almost 15,000 buses are needed to meet the transport services of Karachites.

In comparison, merely 1,039 buses of People Bus Service (PBS) are on the roads at the moment, which is insufficient. For years, Karachi has been suffering from bad road conditions and the worst transport services for the public. Despite several efforts by the provincial government, still, the misery of karachites is yet to be addressed.

Amidst a multitude of civic and infrastructural issues, the shortage of public transport has become a pressing concern for the city’s millions of residents. This leaves them with limited options for reaching their destinations.

While the introduction of PBS buses by the provincial government has provided some relief to the people, the slow pace of bus additions to the fleet has become a significant worry for commuters. They argue that the current number of buses is insufficient to meet the city’s needs.
