ECP Completes Ballot Paper Printing

ECP Completes Ballot Paper Printing for Elections 2024 in Pakistan.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has accomplished the printing of ballot papers for all constituencies across the country, gearing up for the upcoming 2024 elections.

Except for 31 districts, the distribution of the printed ballots has been finalized on a national scale.

The ballots for the National Assembly are distinguished by green paper, while white paper is designated for Provincial Assembly ballots.

In a briefing held in Islamabad, ECP officials disclosed the completion of ballot paper delivery for Balochistan constituencies.

Security concerns and challenging weather conditions were addressed through air transport to ensure timely and secure distribution.

Initiated on January 14 and concluded on February 2, the printing process was executed efficiently, with special considerations for the reprinted ballots following a Supreme Court order.

A total of 260 million ballot papers were printed this time, reflecting a substantial 54.74% increase in candidates compared to the 2018 elections.

The demand for special paper experienced a noteworthy 195% surge, efficiently managed within a reduced requirement from 2400 tonnes to 2177 tonnes.

The breakdown of printed ballots includes 5% single-column, 50% double-column, 30% three-column, 11.15% four-column, and 2.4% five-column formats, meticulously prepared for the diverse electoral landscape.

As the election fervor intensifies, political parties and independent candidates are actively engaged in campaigning, with the campaign period set to conclude on February 6 at 12 pm, leading up to the elections scheduled for February 8.
