Amidst the violence, the Foreign Office spokesperson, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, announced the closure of border crossings to ensure the safety and security of the general elections.

Both cargo and pedestrian traffic will be affected, with operations set to resume after the polling day on Friday.

The escalation of terror activities, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan, has prompted authorities to deploy additional security personnel to safeguard the polling process.

This proactive measure aims to mitigate potential security threats and ensure a smooth electoral process across the country.
