Pakistan Army to Deploy Troops at Polling Stations for Elections 2024.
In preparation for the upcoming elections, Pakistan Army soldiers are set to be deployed following the approval of a summary submitted by the Interior Ministry in the interim federal cabinet meeting.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar chaired the meeting where the decision was made.

The Interior Ministry’s submission aligns with the Election Commission’s request for the deployment of over 277,000 army personnel nationwide to ensure security and maintain law and order during the elections.
Last month, the electoral watchdog specifically sought armed forces and law enforcement personnel to be stationed at polling stations.
With the cabinet’s endorsement, the Army, alongside paramilitary personnel, will take on election duties.

This move comes as Pakistani authorities intensify security measures across the country, given the ongoing threats from groups like TTP and other militants.
Additionally, Section 144 has been imposed in Lahore ahead of the elections to further enhance security measures.
