Good News: Imran Khan wins bail in several cases

Good News: Imran Khan wins bail in several cases. The former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, has won bail in multiple cases from the courts in Islamabad. This is indeed a big relief for PTI and Imran Khan himself from the anti-terrorist court. This is a temporary respite that will surely calm the overall political situation in the country.

Imran Khan was awarded bail till June 8, 2023, according to his lawyer, Mohammad Ali Bokhari. The former cricketer is also expected to appear in the National Accountability Bureau Court in alleged corruption charges against him and his wife. He is confident to be given a clean chit in Al Qadir Trust Case in which he was also arrested. In short, Pakistan’s former prime minister, Imran, won bail on a good note.

In a recent development after Khan`s arrest, he is apparently being given relief. Islamabad High Court is expected to quash the Sedition case against Imran Khan on Tuesday, 29th August 2023. On Monday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC)reserved the verdict. It is believed that the decision of Session Judge Mr. Dilawar was not correct, and thus, Khan must be freed from the weeks-long imprisonment. On the other hand, a report was submitted to the Supreme Court on Monday, 28th August 2023, about the conditions Mr. Khan in Jail and that he is being served meals cooked in desi ghee. It is pertinent to mention that Latif Khosa, who is also a member of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPPP), is fighting the case of Imran Khan.

Additionally, just before the case verdict was to be granted by Justice Amir Farooq, the PTI Chairman filed a plea not to arrest him in another case. The reason is that, as per unconfirmed rumors, Khan might again be arrested by NAB, FIA, or the Police in any other case while keeping him in jail.

29th August: Finally, on 29th August 2023, the IHC suspended the conviction of Imran Khan in the Toshakhana (State Gifts) case. But he was re-arrested in the Cypher Case by the Police. It has also been said that despite the suspension granted, his conviction stays, and he will not be able to take part in political activities. He will also remain on Judicial Remand till 30 August 2023.

12th September 2023: IHC reserved its verdict on a petition filed by the PTI Chairman Imran Khan. The petition challenged the decision case of Cipher. Almost a week ago, the IHC also asked the authorities to produce a reason for keeping Imran Khan in Jail despite the suspension of the sentence.

14th September 2023: The bail application from Former Prime Minister and Chairman PTI, Imran Khan, was rejected by the Special Court on Thursday in the Cipher Case. In the same case, the bail application of the Vice Chairman of PTI was also rejected. The case was heard by the Judge of this special court, Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain. The judgment was reserved, and today was announced. The post-arrest bail application rejection is surely a setback for PTI and his Chairman, who has been in jail for the Cipher Case for more than 4 Weeks.

18th September 2023: The IHC issued notices to the concerned parties in the Imran Khan Cipher case and asked the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to present their reply. The next hearing was scheduled for 25 September 2023.

25th September 2023: The IHC issued orders to move Imran Khan, former Prime Minister, to Adiala Jail from Attock Jail.

3rd October 2023: PTI has condemned the notification of the Law Ministry to hear the case of Imran Khan in Adiala Jail regarding the Cypher Case. And that it should be heard in an open court.
