Amir Khattak Appointed as Commissioner of Rawalpindi, and Maryam Khan to Multan.
On Wednesday, the administrative landscape of Punjab underwent a transformation with the Services & General Administration Department (S&GAD) issuing a notification regarding the transfer of Commissioners in Multan and Rawalpindi.
According to the notification, Amir Khattak has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Rawalpindi. His extensive experience and leadership skills are expected to bring a fresh perspective to the administrative affairs of Rawalpindi, potentially influencing its development trajectory.
Simultaneously, Maryam Khan, who previously served as the Secretary of Industrial & Commercial (I&C), will now assume the role of Commissioner in Multan.
With her background in the industrial and commercial sectors, Khan’s expertise is anticipated to contribute significantly to the governance and growth of Multan.
Earlier, Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa, the Director General (DG) of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), had been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Commissioner for Rawalpindi Division.
This decision was conveyed through a notification issued by Chief Secretary Punjab, Zahid Akhtar Zaman. Liaquat Ali Chatta, the former Commissioner of Rawalpindi Division, has been promptly transferred and directed to report to the Services and General Administration Department of the Punjab Government.
These administrative changes reflect the government’s strategic approach to optimizing leadership placements to better address the evolving needs and challenges of different regions in Punjab.
