Pakistani rupee up by 5 paisa against US dollar
KARACHI: The local currency, Pakistani rupee, remained almost stable against the United States dollar as the value gained 0.02 percent in the opening session of the interbank market on Tuesday.

PKR closed at Rs277.63 by the second working day of the week. PKR increased 5 paisas against the dollar at the beginning of the day.

The US dollar eased slightly globally but remained close to recent highs ahead of significant US data releases later this week that may influence the Federal Reserve’s policy decisions.
In the current fiscal year, PKR has appreciated by 66 paisa or 0.24pc against the US dollar. Against the calendar year, it has gained Rs4.18 or 1.51pc.

- PKR still stronger against the Japanese yen at 1.8105, or up by 1.64 paisa and 0.90 per cent in comparison with Rs1.8269 a day before.
- The PKR went down by 1.07 paisa, or 0.01 per cent, against the UAE dirham, closing at Rs75.60.
- The PKR appreciated by 36.12 paisa, or 0.11 per cent, against the Swiss franc to reach Rs320.00.
- The PKR appreciated by 14.39 paisa, or 0.04 per cent, against the British pound and closed at Rs360.06 as compared with Rs360.20 recorded the previous day.
It rose by 62.43 paisa, or 0.21 percent, against the euro and closed at Rs299.97 from Rs300.59.
The PKR declined by 1.82 paisa, or 0.02 percent, against the Saudi riyal and closed at Rs73.94.
The PKR edged up by 2.85 paisa, or 0.07 percent, against the Chinese yuan and closed at Rs38.95 from Friday’s Rs38.98.
