Gas Bills to Skyrocket: OGRA Notifies New Gas Prices.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has officially released the revised natural gas sale prices, effective from November 1.

Per the OGRA Ordinance, 2002 (sections 7(1), 8(3), and 21(2)(h)), the federal government advised OGRA on adjusting natural gas prices based on consumer categories, considering socioeconomic objectives, sectoral policies, and addressing cross-subsidies and the Gas Development Surcharge.
OGRA, following federal government directives, has now implemented the new natural gas sale prices as of November 1, 2023.
Regarding fixed monthly charges, domestic consumers in the protected category will be charged a fixed monthly fee of Rs. 400, while non-protected consumers are required to pay Rs. 1,000 for monthly usage up to 1.5 hm3.

For consumers exceeding 1.5 hm3 in monthly consumption, the fixed monthly charge will be Rs. 2,000.
