Benazir Kafalat Quarterly Stipend Amount to be Increased
Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson, Senator Rubina Khalid on Wednesday announced the increase in the sum of Benazir Kafalat quarterly stipend for its beneficiaries up-to an amount of Rs. 13,500 by the year 2025.

“The amount of Benazir Kafalat stipends will be increased from Rs. 10,500 to Rs. 13,500 by the year 2025″, she said during a visit at the Benazir Nashonuma Center at Sindh Government Hospital PIB Colony in Karachi.
The chairperson inspected the facilities, interacted with women beneficiaries of the programme and expressed satisfaction over the availability of adequate services,said a news release.
Speaking to media persons at the hospital, Senator Rubina Khalid praised Sindh Health Department for providing necessary facilities and resources for the programme.
She further pointed out that child stunting is one of the issues BISP is making inevitable by providing both cash and nutritional support to mothers whose children are up to two years of age.

She said that 9.3 million families are registered with BISP and this number will reach 10 million in 2025.
The chairperson rejecting the notion of BISP to create dependency said, BISP is a visionary initiative of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and President Asif Ali Zardari and got recognition globally because of its impact. The program aims to eradicate poverty, empower women, and reduce income disparity.
She further added that annual independent third-party survey and monitoring is being done to enhance its effectiveness. On the issue of the mafia of agent and also the very few number of banks performing cash transfer, Senator Rubina Khalid shared with the house that BISP is discussing this matter with the State Bank of Pakistan to smoothen cash transfers for beneficiaries.
She declared that six more banks have been added to BISP’s cash transfer network in a bid to reduce reliance on a few banking entities and limit the influence of cheating agents.
