Lt. General Akhtar Nawaz Satti (Retd) Takes Oath as New FPSC Chairman
Lt. General Akhtar Nawaz Satti (Retd) formally took the charge as Chairman Federal Public Service Commission, FPSC here on Wednesday.
Taking Oath at Aiwan-e-Sadr:
President Asif Ali Zardari administered oath to Lt. General Satti in a graceful ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr, which was attended by high-ranking dignitaries including the senior officials of the government.

Vacancy Filled: Lt General Akhtar Nawaz Rtd Sworn as FPSC Chairman
The post of the FPSC chairman was lying vacant since August 2023, causing delays in the meetings of the CSB-an important body tasked with responsible civil service recruitment.
Lt. General Satti’s appointment brings this important position into operative mode and is likely to expedite the work of the CSB.
Lt. General Satti’s Background:
Before this posting, Lt. General Satti was the Commander of the II Corps, one of the important field corps of the Pakistan Army garrisoned in Multan Cantonment, Punjab.
The II Corps is one of ten field corps in the Pakistani military that were so far deployed against the Indian Army during the 1971 war and inside Afghanistan to protect western borders.
