In its latest transparency report, TikTok reveals a significant effort to combat harmful content on its platform. During the second quarter of 2023, the platform removed over 14 million videos in Pakistan alone, demonstrating a strong commitment to community guidelines.

Impressively, the majority of these videos (83.6%) were proactively removed before users even had a chance to see them. This proactive approach, combined with the removal of 92.5% of offending videos within 24 hours of posting, highlights TikTok’s dedication to a safe and positive user experience.
While the specific content of removed videos remains undisclosed, the report emphasizes TikTok’s focus on tackling misinformation and other harmful material. Additionally, to protect young users, TikTok removed a staggering 18.8 million accounts belonging to users under the age of 13.
Further demonstrating its commitment to responsible content moderation, TikTok achieved a remarkable 98.6% proactive removal rate during the quarter. This means that nearly all offensive content was identified and removed without user interaction.
