2023 is the Hottest Year on record, and 2024 is possibly going to be hotter. Climate change and global warming are now one of the big threats to our planet Earth. The US, several parts of Europe, and Asia are facing extreme heat waves in past years, but according to the reports, this year will be the warmest year on record. This heat wave is also affecting the temperature of the ocean’s surface in the Pacific Ocean along the equator. This is called the El Nino phenomenon.

According to reports, 2023 will be the hottest year on record since the record started in 1850. June 2023 was the hottest on record, and July 2023 is getting hotter. The previously hottest year on record happened in 2016. Scientists are suggesting that if a strong El Nino phenomenon occurs this year, next year will possibly be hotter.
According to the World Meteorological Organization, the world has just gone through its hottest days on record. The ocean and land are both the hottest June has seen. The world we are creating for our future generations will be difficult to live in. Our planet is in trouble, and we need to make it a better place to live in.

Climate scientist Friederike Otto of the Imperial College of London said. “Heat records will keep getting broken; people and ecosystems are already in many cases beyond what they are able to deal with.”
