The service will be exclusively provided to women to ensure a safe and comfortable travel facility within Karachi.
Target Audience: Female Passengers
Key Feature: Exclusive to Women
Objective: Improved Safety and Convenience
He also vehemently criticized the caretaker government for its mismanagement of traffic problems, terming it “inefficient.” He assured the public that the present government is taking active steps to solve such problems and to completely revamp the city’s transport structure.
Resume BRT Project
Work on the long-awaited Bus Rapid Transit project has resumed with the end of the term of the caretaker government, vowed the Sindh government. This World Bank-backed project is going to change the way people commute in and around Karachi.
Scope of Project: 26.5 km
New Features: EV buses
Environment Impact: Will introduce bio-gas fuel-based red line buses
The BRT project will add to the convenience of daily commuters by introducing environment-friendly electric buses. These buses will move along underpasses to enable smooth and hassle-free travel from one end of the city to another.
Failure of Previous Governments
Apart from laying out his new plans and schemes, Memon did not retreat from condemning the previous PTI-led government for its unfulfilled claims regarding providing employment and housing to people.
He said that problems left behind by the PTI regime have put an undue burden on the present government, which is now putting in all its efforts to overcome those challenges and fulfilling its commitments.
Criticism: Unfulfilled promises of the PTI government
Focus Now: Employment and housing solutions
Government Commitment: Overcome Inherited Challenges
Looking Forward to a Brighter Future of Karachi’s Transport
The Sindh government’s move to start the EV taxi service and the revival of the BRT project is a serious pursuit not only toward the rehabilitation of Karachi’s transport but also the economic empowerment of women by engaging them in productive work. These initiatives will transform this city into a safer, efficient, and more inclusive transport setup.
