Schools in Islamabad to Remain Open on Saturdays till February 1st, 2025.
The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has officially declared abolishing Saturday holiday in all schools run under the umbrella of the federation.
Saturday holiday canceled in schools
A statement issued on Friday said it has taken the decision on the advice of compensation for the academic activities which had been witnessed due to closure of educational institutions during the past month.

In effect from November 30 tomorrow
It will come into effect from November 30 tomorrow, and continue through February 1, 2025.

This will mean that from Saturday onwards, Saturday will be a regular working day in all the schools and colleges under the FDE’s management.
The FDE officials said that students’ education has been adversely affected because of long holidays and unscheduled closures.
“The change has been made to ensure that students get the required instructional time and complete their syllabus on schedule,” the notification said.
