“We felt that we must bring a balloon festival like this to Nepal,” said Sabin Maharjan, one of the event organizers.

🌍 International Participation and Scenic Rides

  • Hot air balloons from over 10 countries participated in the festival.
  • Passengers enjoyed breathtaking views of mountains, hills, and lakes, making each ride an unforgettable experience.

“A ride here can be very exciting as you can see mountains, hills, and lakes. All passengers tell us that they are very happy – such a festival will boost our tourism,” Maharjan added.

The balloons painted a mesmerizing display against the snow-capped Annapurna range, creating a spectacular visual treat.

“As soon as you go above the small range here, you see all the Himalayas. Unbelievable, every time you see them it is unbelievable,” shared Derek Hamcock, an American balloon pilot.

Fun and Whimsy in the Sky

Among the balloons were unique designs, including shapes of a rat and a frog, that drifted peacefully with the breeze.

“You never know where you are going. It’s you and nature – not fighting, but being together. You go where nature tells you,” said Diego Criado del Rey, a Spanish balloon pilot.
