The Honhaar Scholarship Program, set to inaugurated today by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, marks a historic milestone in Punjab’s education sector.

Described as the “largest” scholarship initiative in the province’s history, the program will provide financial aid to over 30,000 students in various fields, offering significant support for those pursuing higher education.
Launch Ceremony at Punjab University
Launch Ceremony for Honhaar Scholarship program held today, with many leading official from administration attending in the University of Punjab.
This project will fund 65 private and state Universities along with 12 Colleges offering Medical and Dental education and 359 Colleges in this prosperous country across Punjab province.
Altogether, 68 specialities covered under the program by ensuring that diversified students pursuing educational programmes should be granted financial opportunities at various levels to continue to take studies forward.
Eligibility for Honhaar Scholarship: Honhaar Scholarship Program Launch Today Aiming for 30000 Students
Eligible applicants under this scholarship program are from Punjab. Therefore, the applicants of the Honhaar Scholarship 2024 will need to be eligible by satisfying all of the following criteria:
- Domicile: Any applicant with a domicile of any district of Punjab is eligible.
- Age Limit: Only applicants with an age less than 22 years are eligible.
- Family Income: The monthly family income should be less than Rs. 300,000.
- Enrollment: Students should be enrolled in specified disciplines at designated universities or colleges for the fall session of 2024.
Provisional Merit Lists and Verification Process
Provisional merit lists of the Honhaar Scholarship Programme 2024 have been released by the program committee, and verification is required.
Lists contain 20,566 students from public sector universities and 4,820 students from private sector institutions.
Also, 1,367 applicants from medical and dental colleges and 3,247 students from HED colleges have chosen their name for the scholarship.
The process will include verification of documents, interviews, and assessment of family income for eligibility.
Scholarship Information and Monetary Assistance
Successful applicants to the Honhaar Scholarship Program will get Rs. 130,000 annually that will be used to finance their educational expenses.
The scholarship shall be renewable up to eight years to ensure continuous funding of students’ studies.
It is expected to help over 4 million students within the next four years. Altogether, 20 million scholarships will be given out.
