Punjab Board of Revenue Goes Digital to Side Step Fraud and Enhance Efficiency

Board of Revenue (BoR), Punjab, becomes significantly modernized as it green-lights a comprehensive set of reforms in a full board meeting held on Thursday.

The session, chaired by Senior Member BoR Nabeel Javed, presented the top management with a discussion of a host of highly relevant matters.

Battling Fraud with E-Stamps:

The other major focus of the meeting was on the digitalization of the e-stamp paper system.

The intention is to help combat fraud whilst bringing more transparency to document authentication.

In an attempt to move from a paper-based system to a secure digital platform, the BoR is looking to free issuing authorities from the risks associated with physical stamps, such as forgery and misuse.

Streamlined Tax Collection: Reforms for tax collection in conformity with efficiency and transparency.

  • Enhanced Internal Auditing: Up gradations towards bringing about a transparency in use of Government lands, recovery of dues, and audits.

  • Reducing Fraud: The fake stamps can be easily done away with; hence, no forgery or misusages.
  • Increasing Efficiency: The procedures will get more streamlined and mix up of digitalization will make it easy and fast.
