Death anniversary of famous lyricist Tanveer Naqvi observed
It is Friday that witnessed the death anniversary of celebrated lyricist and poet Tanveer Naqvi on its 52nd day.
Tanveer Naqvi was born in 1919 at Lahore, where his actual name was Syed Khursheed Ali.

Tanveer wrote more than two hundred films. The benefits of this pen had reached to both Lollywood and Bollywood.
Through the film Swami, under the hands of the celebrated filmmaker Abdul Rashid Kardar, Tanveer started making appearances on the silver screens of India after which he devoted more than fifteen years in Pakistan cinema.
He did so through his songs like “Aawaz De Kahan Hai” for the 1946 film Anmol Ghadi and “Rang Laayega Shaheedon Ka Lahoo” by Noor Jahan. Many other big Naats are also under his credit, such as “Shah-e-Madina Yasrab Ke Wali” and “Jo Na Hota Tera Jamale Hi”. He died on 1st November 1972 and was buried in Lahore.
