The winter holidays are soon to be announced by the Punjab government for the schools of the province in accordance with the convention observed by this province every year. These vacations serve to save them from scorching winter.

Schools Education Department: Winter Vacation in Punjab 2024 Expected Dec 21

Traditionally, the schedule for winter holidays is decided by the Schools Education Department in December.

Initial report says that Punjab winter vacations are likely to commence from December 21, 2024, Saturday and run until January 1, 2025, which falls on a Wednesday.

These dates shall be irrespective of the public and private schools.

However, in later scenario, this date may change after considering the weather conditions and problems caused due to smog, through which the educational activities have already been affected this year.

Last year, schools were shut for the winter break from 18th to 31st of December, but the holidays were later extended till January 9, 2024, due to deteriorating weather.

This year, authorities are keeping a close eye both on the smog situation and the dropping temperatures and have planned to ensure the safety of students.
