United Motors To Launch “JETOUR SUVs” in Pakistan
United Motors, a prominent player in Pakistan’s automotive market, is gearing up to introduce the “Jetour” brand, a marque of the Chinese automaker Chery, established in 2018.
Known for producing stylish SUVs and crossovers, Jetour is set to make its debut in Pakistan with two exciting variants: the Jetour Dashing and Jetour X70 Plus.
- Jetour Dashing: A sleek 5-seater SUV, designed to appeal to urban drivers seeking a blend of style and performance.
- Jetour X70 Plus: A versatile 7-seater SUV, offering spacious seating and practicality for larger families.
Both models will be locally produced as Completely Knocked Down (CKD) units and will feature a 1.5 turbo petrol engine. United Motors plans to launch these vehicles in January 2025.
This move marks a significant shift for the company, which previously introduced budget hatchbacks like the “Bravo” and “Alpha,” models that struggled in the market due to issues like low resale value, subpar build quality, and the non-availability of spare parts.
With Jetour, United Motors is making a bold leap into the premium segment, and there’s hope that this new venture will be more successful.
Other Upcoming Car Launches in Pakistan
The excitement doesn’t end with United Motors. Other automotive giants like Deepal and BYD are also set to launch their electric vehicles on August 16 and 17, respectively. Meanwhile, Kia Lucky Motors is rumored to be planning the introduction of an advanced EV range in 2024. Speculation is rife about which specific models will be launched.
Adding to the buzz, Hyundai Nishat has recently been spotted testing the Hyundai Elantra 7th Gen Hybrid in Pakistan, indicating that the company has big plans for the local market. They have also announced their intent to join the EV league soon.
What Lies Ahead for Pakistan’s Automotive Market?
With a host of new entrants and exciting models on the horizon, Pakistan’s automotive market is poised for a dynamic year in 2024. From locally produced premium SUVs to cutting-edge electric vehicles, consumers will have more options than ever before.
