Thailand Deals with Pakistan to Supply 4×4 Armored Vehicles
A shot in the arm for South Asia’s defense collaborations, Pakistan has sealed an agreement with Thailand to supply 100 First Win 4×4 armored vehicles to the Pakistan Army.
The deal was formalized on September 18, 2024, between Thai Defence Industry Co., Ltd. (TDI) and Chaiseri-the latter being an expert in armored defense vehicles-and it is a joint entity of Thailand’s Defence Technology Institute (DTI).
Heavy Industries Taxila
TDI will under this contract sell armored vehicles to the Pakistan’s major defense manufacturing giant Heavy Industries Taxila.
Technology transfer is part of this cooperation, where the First Win vehicle, within the years, would be produced at HIT, in Pakistan.
The first lot of the vehicles will be produced in Thailand, and the following lots will be assembled by HIT.
These vehicles, which can be used in various types of combat scenarios, will add a diversified element to Pakistan’s defense missions.
Chaiseri First Win 2 Armored Vehicle Features: Thailand will Supply 100 Modern Armored Vehicles
- Power: Equipped with a 340 horsepower engine and six-speed automatic transmission for performance.
- Capacity: It can carry 11 personnel and can be adapted as an APC, Ambulance, or AFV.
- Protection: STANAG 4569 is met with Level 3 ballistics on the front glacis and Level 2 on the sides; however, mine protection is optional
- Weapon Station: The main armament consists of a 30 mm M230, which comes equipped with a two-axis gyroscopic stabilization system to achieve high accuracy.
- Super Optical: Thermal camera, daytime camera, and laser-range finder provide operational capabilities enhancements.
- Survivability Capabilities: It has more features of the runflat braking system, selfrecovery winch, as well as the automatic suppression of fires for safety capabilities in hostile environment.
