Lahore: Imran Riaz released from alleged captivity. Anchorperson and YouTuber Imran Riaz Khan, who had been missing for more than five months, was successfully located and reunited with his family on Monday, as confirmed by District Police Officer (DPO) Sialkot, Hassan Iqbal.
This development comes in the wake of nationwide protests on May 9, triggered by the detention of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan at the Islamabad High Court. #ImranRiazKhan was taken into custody on May 11 at Sialkot Airport under the 3MPO.

Following his release from the district jail on May 12, Imran Riaz Khan left in a private vehicle. On May 15, the Lahore High Court (LHC) was informed that the anchorperson had been released from custody after providing a written assurance.Mian Ali Ashfaq, the lawyer of Imran Riaz Khan also shared this great news in his tweet.
The LHC had set a deadline of September 26 for the Punjab police chief to locate Imran Riaz Khan, who had been missing for an extended period.
The Sialkot police, in a social media update on X (formerly known as Twitter), announced, “Journalist and anchorperson Mr. Imran Riaz Khan has been safely recovered and is currently reunited with his family.”
Furthermore, Imran Riaz Khan’s attorney, in a post on X, expressed his gratitude, saying, “With God’s extraordinary blessings and grace, I have successfully brought back my beloved client.”
He added, “This journey was marked by numerous challenges, the final frontiers of comprehension, a fragile judicial system, the inefficiencies in the current public constitution, and a sense of legal helplessness.”
The lawyer concluded, “Despite the indescribable circumstances, we have witnessed this day as a testament to the limitless blessings of the Almighty. Our gratitude knows no bounds at this moment.”
