And what is an attempt at endearment but through a humorous name?

Coolest Nicknames of Cars in Pakistan

Here is a glimpse into the world of Pakistani car nicknames, sure to tickle your funny bone:

1. Suzuki Alto: Sabun Dani (Soap Dish)

This one’s a classic! Alto’s “Sabun Dani” nickname for that reason jestingly and jokingly taunts this car’s lightweight and, shall we say, economic build quality.

But unlike its sarcastic name, Alto is the bestseller in Pakistan. On average, 6,000 units are sold every month.

2. Suzuki Mehran: The Boss

Don’t let the size fool you. Suzuki Mehran, famously called “The Boss,” merits that reputation regarding its legendary toughness.

This small car masters landscapes that would leave even husky SUVs for dust, negotiating snowy roads and mud-soaked Northern regions.

Interestingly, the Mehran was a record- holder for the longest-running manufacturing ever in Pakistan’s history-it ran for a remarkably long period of 31 years. In its prime time, it held the market high, self-calling itself “Boss” just due to tenacity.

3. Honda City i-DSI: Chooha City (Rat City)

This name is completely in line with the theme of car design. Glance at the Honda City i-DSI’s front profile and you might just catch a whiff of a certain rodent. Legend has it that the designers drew inspiration from well, you know why!

4. Suzuki Bolan: Carry Dabba (Carry Box)

A boxy shape inspires its hilarious nickname, “Carry Dabba” (“Dabba” translates to “box”). “Carry” is in honor of its counterpart produced internationally in the 1980s, the “Carry ST-90.”

5. Daihatsu Charade (3rd Generation): Anda Charade (Egg Charade)

Another car inspired with the naming is the 3rd generation Daihatsu Charade.  Because of the rear end, especially side views, is shaped like an egg, it has earned the nickname “Egg Charade.” Although the car has a funny moniker, in the ’80s, the Charade has been dubbed as a “pocket rocket.” And if these were pitted against some newer models, today’s charade can also be compared, especially at acceleration.

6. Honda Civic (8th Generation): Reincarnated

The name “Reborn” is apt for the 8th generation Honda Civic.  Launched in 2005, its design was altogether a new thing when compared with the predecessor model, the 7th generation. Even today, the well-maintained interior of a Reborn would go unnoticed when it comes to the age factor.

5. Honda Civic (5th Generation): Dolphin Civic

Why it is named “Dolphin” nobody knows as the 5th gen Civic doesn’t resemble one in the slightest.  However speculators claim that maybe, just maybe the front headlights though very dull in comparison did sort of remind them of the chin of a dolphin and thus was dubbed to be named “Dolphin Civic.”

8. Honda Civic (7th Generation): Eagle Eye

In contrast, the nickname of the 7th gen Civic, “Dolphin Civic,” is inaptly applied because, really, the sharp, angular headlights of this model genuinely look like some bird of prey’s eyes. But the whole world appreciates this model and calls it “Eagle Eye.”

Among those mentioned above, nicknames are some of the many funny and endearing ones associated with popular cars in Pakistan. Next time you spot a car on the road in Pakistan, take a closer look-you might just spot a nickname in hiding!
