Eid Milad-un-Nabi Date Confirmed: Celebrations to Take Place on September 17th

The Muslims in the country and other parts of the world are all set to mark Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) – the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is assigned to take up the crescent-sighting task, which made the announcement about Eid Milad-un-Nabi’s date this year following a recent meeting on the Islamic month of Rabiul Awwal.

Moon Not Sighted, New Islamic Month Begins on September 6th

Starting with the Chairman, Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, the committee met in Islamabad on Wednesday to sight the new moon.

The moon was expected to be clearly visible with partial clouds in some parts; however, the moon was not sighted in any part of the country, including the main cities like Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.

 Thus, the committee formally announced commencing the month of Rabiul Awwal from Friday, September 6th.

Eid Milad-un-Nabi Celebrations Due on September 17th

Eid Milad-un-Nabi -PBUH- ushers in on the 12th of Rabiul Awwal, falling this year on Tuesday, September 17th. The cardinal day is observed with particular prayers, recitation of the Holy Quran, mushairas and amaal-e-sawab by Muslims around the world.

Eid Milad-un-Nabi is a day of great significance celebrated by Muslims around the world.
